Booky ("we", "us", "our") connects patients with practitioners and takes the privacy of both seriously. This notice explains what we collect when you browse the site, create an account, or make a booking — and what we do with it.
1. Information we collect
- Identity & contact data — name, email address and phone number.
- Booking data — the consultations you book, appointment times, the practitioner you booked with, and any notes you choose to add.
- Health and personal notes — anything you volunteer in a booking note, an intake form or a message. You are never required to share clinical detail through the platform; share only what the practitioner asks for.
- Payment data — handled by our payment providers. Full card numbers never reach our servers.
- Account data — login credentials (passwords are stored only as salted hashes) and your saved preferences.
- Usage data — anonymised analytics such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location, collected via cookies.
2. How we use it
- To create and manage your bookings, including reminders and changes.
- To pass a practitioner the details they need to see you — your name, contact details and any notes you added to the booking.
- To take payment, issue receipts and process refunds.
- To keep the platform secure and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To send service messages. Marketing messages are only sent with your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
3. What we share, and with whom
- The practitioner you book with receives the details needed to deliver your appointment. Contact details are only revealed once a booking is confirmed.
- Payment providers receive what they need to take payment.
- Service providers (hosting, email, SMS and messaging) process data on our instructions only.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Account data is kept while your account is open. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; we will remove what we are not legally required to retain.
5. Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to a particular use. Write to hello@booky.com and we will respond within the period the law allows.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed. Access to personal data inside our team is limited to those who need it to run the service.
